This was another free PC, found on Facebook Marketplace. It's a home- or custom- build machine that has only really required cleaning up, and a replacement PSU fitted. The original Athlon XP 1700+ was replaced with an Athlon XP 2600+ (Thorton core, 166MHz (DDR-333) FSB). I tried 3GB of memory but the PC was unstable and would randomly just lock up completely, not even giving a blue screen, so I removed one module (which was underclocked DDR-400) which seems to have resolved it. 2GB is an enormous amount of memory for Windows XP anyway. The motherboard is an Asus A7N8X Deluxe. There's an MSI NX7600GS 256MB graphics card, and I've fitted a Seagate Barracuda 500GB 7200RPM SATA HDD and an HP DVD+/-RW drive (replacing the original broken Philips unit), and it runs Windows XP.
