Dell Inspiron 1545

This laptop was a freebie from my parents after several years' service, after it had sat for some time with a failed HDD (Western Digital). With the HDD from the Inspiron 5030N fitted I gained a usable machine, and in fact this has become my usual day to day laptop. It's got 4GB of RAM, the processor was a Pentium T4200 but I've since upgraded it to a Core 2 Duo T9550 which makes quite a difference - it's got much more cache RAM, the clock speed is a little better, and importantly it's got hardware virtualisation (yes, even with 4GB of RAM virtualisation is OK). This runs Slackware 15.0 64 bit. The hinge screws loosened and the movement in the hinges chewed the plastic up a little and caused a crack in the lid, but Araldite did the trick.
